What is Indie?

Wednesday is Indie Day here at Live Mic. Yesterday however I did not have time to create a post. I had a car accident the first part of September and I just finally got my car settlement money yesterday. I spent all day and evening looking for a car. I found a great little 1995 Chevy Beretta. Since I was not able to make the post yesterday, today is Indie Day. Do you know what Indie is? Do you know what the downside and the upside is to being an Independent artist is? Well there is a very informative documentary that will answer all these questions for you. So for your viewing pleasure today watch the Trailer for the movie “What is Indie?”

Indie Wednesday - Phillip Meredith

Indie Wednesday’s is back. Each week I will feature an Indie artist that I feel has that something special to make it in the business. This Indie Wednesday my Indie Artist choice is Phillip Meredith. I found out about Phillip today when I got a request to add him to a fan site at my MySpace that I take care of. I went and checked out this guy. I am very glad I did. I love country music and Phillip’s music and voice is wonderful. I love what I am hearing. I think we will defiantly hear much more of Phillip Meredith in the country music genre and I for one cannot wait. Go check out Phillip’s MySpace now.

Indie Wednesday - Jonalee White

Good Morning and Happy Indie Wednesday. This is my first Indie Wednesday and my first artist is Jonalee White. I have enjoyed 2 concerts of Jonalee’s when she opened for Bucky Covington in Chillicothe and Dayton Ohio. The first concert was rained out but Jonalee did get to sing a couple songs before the storm came in. Not only does Jonalee have a beautiful voice she is such a sweet and patient person. I saw Jonalee among the fans signing autographs and taking the time to talk to them and take pictures with them.

Jonalee White has a sultry country voice. Jonalee has performed with such artists as Dierks Bentley, Clay Walker, McGuffey Lane and as I said before Bucky Covingoton all over the United States. She was a finalist on NBC’s show Star Tomorrow and CMT Music City Madness. She was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania then she went south to Lexington, Kentucky where she graduated college with a Master's in school counseling. Now she is in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jonalee sings with musicians all over the state of Ohio. She gives fans an upbeat show.

Theme Days

“Live” will have Theme days. These are days that a post will be made related to a theme of the day. Monday will be Concert Monday. I will either let you know about upcoming concerts, have a recap from someone who attended a concert or maybe both. So if you attend a concert and you want to share it with me and the blogging universe, drop me a line. If you know of an upcoming concert, let me know in case I don’t know about it. Wednesday is Indie Wednesday, on Wednesdays I will show case an independent musician that I have heard or read about. Taylor Thursday will be Taylor Hicks day. If there is new news that will be here, or maybe I will just look back at something from the past. Sundays are Elvis day. Elvis Presley was a true “Live” performer. He always had sold out shows and gave the audience exactly what they wanted. I will look back at his legendary concerts.

Theme day is not just for the Theme if I have other posts for the day they will also be here, however the Theme post will defiantly be here. Unless I get sick or runaway, I’ll be back later with the first Indie Wednesday.
